  SwimRVA is a Richmond-based organization dedicated to providing access to swimming facilities and education throughout the local area. This year, the group is hosting its annual SwimRVA New Year's Challenge on Tuesday, December 31, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Though it's formatted as a race, the idea of the challenge is not to swim the fastest or the farthest but to reach the goal you've set for yourself and set a new goal for next year.

  Another excellent opportunity to celebrate New Year's Eve during daylight hours, Hardywood Noon Year's Eve, takes place at Richmond's Hardywood Park Craft Brewery from 11 am to 1 pm on December 31. This ticketed event is closed to the general public, and the brewery will open up to non-ticket-holders following the balloon drop at 1 pm. It's a family-friendly event that will feature train rides and live entertainment. 
  
  
• Henley on Grace New Year's Eve Dinner - 314 E Grace St, Richmond, VA 23219
  Numerous restaurants throughout the Richmond area will be serving special menus for New Year's Eve dinner. One of the best places to dine on the evening of the 31st is Henley on Grace, Richmond's premier wine bar. Henley On Grace New Year's Eve Dinner will be served from 5 to 9 pm and include a festive atmosphere and unique menu items to be announced. • NYE 2025: Moonlight Masquerade RVA - 1021 Koger Center Blvd, Richmond, VA 23235
  Billed as Richmond's Biggest NYE Celebration, Moonlight Masquerade returns to Double Tree Midlothian Ballroom this year on the evening of December 31. Beginning at 8:30 pm and scratching past midnight to 1 am, the party will include live DJs and performers, party favors, a live stream of the Times Square Ball Drop, and a complimentary midnight champagne toast.
