Richmond Cafes

Summer has hit the RVA and we sure wish The Fan was able to pump out enough air to cool the city. Since we may be stuck under the summer heat for a few months, our real estate agents are taking every opportunity to grab a refreshing iced coffee. If you're looking for a way to beat the heat this season, cool down with a delicious iced coffee at these Richmond cafes.

  1. Ironclad Coffee Roasters – 1805 E. Grace St., Richmond, VA 23223
The minute you walk into Ironclad Coffee Roasters, you'll notice that they are unlike any other café in the RVA. Taking the café culture of Europe into consideration, Ironclad Coffee Roasters aims to offer the best customer service and finest Specialty Grade coffee in the city. You can order an iced coffee from their café, order beans online to make your own iced coffee at home, or find their mobile café driving around town.

  2. Saison Market – 323 N. Adams St., Richmond, VA 23220
    Saison Market
is a coffee shop, café, and bottle shop serving all meals and offering a grab-and-go market. Their full espresso bar is loaded with the caffeine-fuel you need to make it through a long workday. Although their food and beverage menus are constantly changing to reflect seasonal ingredients, you can count on them to have a fresh cup of iced coffee every day of the year!

  3. Riverbend Coffee Company – 2623 E. Broad St., Richmond, VA 23223
Chill out in Church Hill at Riverbend Coffee Company. All of their coffee beans are roasted in house and ready to take with you on the go. Best of all, their ice cubes don't water down your coffee as they melt, keeping the delicious taste consistent through every drop. Riverbend Coffee Company opened at the tail end of last summer so be sure to stop by and help them prepare to celebrate their one-year anniversary!

  4. Demolition Coffee – 215 E. Bank St., Petersburg, VA 23803
Located in the heart of historic Petersburg, Demolition Coffee has been delighting locals since 2009. Their menu features plenty of iced coffee and teas to keep you cool and refreshed all summer long. Plus, their pastry case is always stocked with fresh baked goods and is the perfect addition to any coffee order. The cafe plans to reopen in July after pausing services during COVID-19. Show your support for this local establishment and stop by when they reopen after browsing these nearby Petersburg homes for sale.

  5. Lamplighter Coffee Roasters – 116 S. Addison St., Richmond, VA 23220
Cool down just outside The Fan at Lamplighter Coffee Roasters. This café is your one-stop-shop for coffee, breakfast, and even groceries like eggs, salsa, tofu, and almond milk. Most of their coffees can be served over ice and their cold brew is delicious, but if you're searching for a powerful pick-me-up, you've got to order the Turbo Coke. They take a Coca-Cola made with real cane sugar, drop in a double shot of Swiftwalker espresso and serve it over ice. Trust us, even a sweltering summer day is no match for a Turbo Coke!

  6. Black Hand Coffee Co. – 3101 Patterson Ave., Richmond VA, 23221
Skip the line at the chain café and head over to Black Hand Coffee Co. This locally owned and operated café imports green coffee beans from around the world then roasted right in Richmond. Their location in the Museum District, and as well as their second location named Café Nostra, is ready to serve you up a delicious roast. Grab a cold brew from Brazil or an iced coffee from Costa Rica, pair it with a tasty sausage, egg, and cheese bagel, and you'll be fueled to take on whatever the day brings!
